PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared October 30 a non-working day across the country to allow Filipinos to participate in the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
“It is imperative that the people be given the full opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right of suffrage,” Marcos said in Proclamation 359 issued on October 9.
According to the Commission on Elections, over a million people are running for positions in this year’s BSKE.
The campaign period is from October 19 to 28.
