PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared December 26, 2023, a special non-working day to allow Filipinos to spend more time with their families and loved ones this holiday season.
Christmas Day, December 25, is a regular holiday across the country.
“A longer weekend will encourage families to get together and strengthen their relationships, leading to a better society,” Marcos said in Proclamation No. 425. ”A longer weekend will also promote domestic tourism.”
Marcos signed the proclamation on Tuesday.
