A shoplifter who reportedly had not taken a bath for several days, decided to use a different way to smell good – steal a cologne.

The incident occurred at a grocery store in Bacolod City.

According to arresting officers, the security guard caught the suspect, identified as Milandro Diero, who took a bottle of cologne.

Police said that suspect even tried to escape by spraying cologne to the spray of the security guard who caught him.

But the suspect was eventually caught after a chase by the security guard.

The suspect admitted to stealing the cologne.

“Oo, kumuha ako ng cologne. Para i-spray sa sarili ko dahil ilang araw na akong walang ligo,” Diero was quoted as saying.

Police are now checking if he has any other derogatory records.
