THE Malacañang Palace recently declared Eid’l Fitr (Feast Of Ramadan) a regular holiday throughout the country on April 1, 2025.
On Monday, March 20–they released Proclamation no. 839, turning the said event into a regular holiday.
This is in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to national consciousness and to allow the Filipinos to join their muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration.
Three days following the month-long Ramadan fast, Muslims celebrate Eid’l Fitr, one of the two most significant Islamic holidays.
The Filipino Muslim population comprise about 6 percent of the Philippine population.
