LTO suspends driver’s license of gun-toting ex-cop

by Carl Santos

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday suspended the driver’s license of Wilfredo Gonzales for 90 days pending an investigation into his involvement in a viral gun-toting incident in Quezon City.

The investigation will determine whether to permanently revoke the driver’s license of Gonzales, a former policeman.

A hearing was set for Thursday, and Gonzales was required to submit a sworn affidavit.

Vigor Mendoza II said in a statement.

Netizen Mr. BI Vlogs shared the video of the incident on August 8, which happened at around 6 p.m.

In the clip, the man driving a red Kia vehicle was seen cutting across the cyclist on the bike lane. He pulled over and went out of his car to hit the biker on the head and curse him.

He was then seen pulling out a gun from his pants and loading it.

The Philippine National Police said on Tuesday that it would file criminal charges against Gonzales over the incident.
