AS Super Typhoon Nando is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds, Malacanang suspended work in government as well as classes in Metro Manila and various areas in the country affected by the severe weather condition.
In a statement signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on behalf on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., it said that they suspended work and classes due to expected floods and strong winds due to Nando and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
Aside Metro Manila, also suspended were: Abra, Antique, Apayao, Bataan, Batanes, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Cavite, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur.
The same is applied to Isabela, Kalinga, La Union, Laguna, Mountain Province, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Palawan, Romblon, Rizal, Tarlac, and Zambales.
Malacanang urged residents in lowe lying areas to start evacuating and follow government advise.
