THE Voice USA Season 26 Winner Sofronio Vasquez III feels honored to sing the Philippine national anthem for the upcoming State of the Nation Address today, July 28, 2025.
In his interview with RTVM, Vasquez said that it was a “great honor.”

He told the interviewers that he specifically returned to the Philippines from the United States, where he was currently living, to perform for the SONA.
“I think it’s a calling na— we have to understand, to just be particular of our emotions. We have to respect, we have to understand and of course just share the simplicity of the Filipinos because Filipinos are very simple but very hardworking, ambitious,” he said, pertaining to Lupang Hinirang— the country’s national anthem.
“When you sing it from the heart and when you get to honor the country, God, the people that’s going to be listening, I think it’s challenging but it’s gonna be worth-while,” he added.
Vasquez is the first Filipino and Asian male to win The Voice competition, training under Coach Michael Bublé.
