LOOKING to work abroad?

Taiwan announced that they are opening their doors for 180,000 job opportunities for caregivers.

It will be spread over a period of five years, where Taiwan opens their doors to aspiring Filipino migrant workers to work as caregivers.

The announcement came amid the declining number of Filipino applicants despite the growing demand for caregivers in Taiwan.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) stated in their regulations that the caregivers are classified as household service workers sector.

It estimates their over P20,000, thus making the role less appealing to many.

Likewise, the recruitment agencies were prohibited from collecting placement fees and other miscellaneous charges from caregiver applicants.

Presently, the Association of Licensed Recruitment Agencies is urging the DMW to reclassify caregivers as semi-skilled workers.
