PASTOR Apollo Quiboloy pleaded not guilty to charges of qualified human trafficking charges before a Pasig City court.
His co-accused also pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder is facing qualified trafficking charges before the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159. It is a non-bailable offense.
The co-accused include Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemane.
It will be recalled that Quiboloy had reportedly surrendered to authorities in Davao City over the weekend and was given an ultimatum to surrender within 24 hours.
Quiboloy is also expected to face the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 106 for charges under Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act and under Section 10(a) of the same act.
On Thursday, the Philippine National Police said that five more persons came forward accusing Quiboloy of rape.
But aside from the legal troubles in the Philippines, Quiboloy likewise faces charges of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, and sex trafficking of children; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling in the United States.
