A FEW hours after Taal Volcano had a minor phreatomagmatic eruption, Kanloan Volcano spewed ash Monday morning as well.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) the Kanlaon Volcano, located in Negros Island, spewed ash from its crater from 7:28 a.m. to 7:38 a.m.
“Time-lapse footage of ash emission at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano that occurred at 07:28 AM to 07:38 AM, today (20 October 2025),” PHIVOLCS said.
“This event generated grayish plumes that rose up to 300 meters above the crater before drifting to the west as recorded by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory – Canlaon City (KVO-CC) IP Camera,” it added.
Meanwhile, Alert Level 2 remains over Kanlaon Volcano.
It means that there is an increased unrest, which may result in the sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions that may occur in the volcano.
