Palace open to Discaya couple protection; DOJ sets conditions for immunity

by Kiko Cueto

AFTER a bombshell of a revelation regarding who’s who as far as lawmakers being on the take is concerned, Malacañang said that they are open to protecting contractor couple Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II and Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya from possible threats or harm that may come their way with their revelations on the massive corruption with the flood-control projects.

According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, this should mean that the Discaya couple should first disclose all individuals who may be involved in the questionable projects.

“Kailangan naman po talagang mabigyan ng protection ang mga witnesses na talagang may kinalaman sa mga facts and data about this; kailangan po talaga ng proteksyon at hindi naman po ’yan ipagkakait ng pamahalaan,” Castro said.

“Pero sana nga po, ang gusto nating madinig sa lahat ay ‘yung mga kailan…’yung kabuuang kwento. Baka kasi nagiging selective lang sila,” she added.

Discaya Couple immunity?

The Department of Justice Meanwhile said that should the Discaya bank on immunity, they must first return the money they garnered from the anomalous and substandard flood control projects.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said he has yet to communicate with government contractors Sarah and Curlee Discaya, who have offered to become state witnesses in exposing the alleged collusion between lawmakers, government agencies and contractors involved in the anomaly.
