A MORE convenient land travel now awaits Filipinos as the Department of Transportation (DOTr) rolled out the “One RFID, All Tollways” program on Tuesday, aimed at providing seamless travel across Luzon’s toll expressways.
With Undas and the Christmas season approaching, drivers can now opt to use a single radio frequency identification (RFID) account when passing through Luzon’s toll roads.
The DOTr’s launch of the Toll Collection System Interoperability Project allows motorists to choose between registering for Easytrip RFID or Autosweep RFID and use it to pay toll fees across expressways.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. personally led the launch held at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Toll Operation Building in Barangay Mapagong, Calamba City, Laguna.
One for All
In his speech, Marcos Jr. stressed the importance of cooperation between private and public sectors to bring this project to life — now more than ever, for the benefit of Filipinos.
“This project has been made possible because of the continued trust, commitment, and flexibility of our partner concessionaires, the operators, and ETC/RFID providers,” Marcos highlighted.
“Years of consultation and cooperation with the DOTr and the Toll Regulatory Board have finally led us to a unified system that responds to the real needs of our motorists.”
“And true to the spirit of public service, you worked hand in hand not because you needed to, but because you wanted to make sure that the travel for all Filipinos is made easier,” Marcos added.
How to Get One
Based on the DOTr’s official Facebook post, registering for the One RFID system is quick and easy, requiring only three simple steps. Here are the steps to follow for a smooth registration process:
- Opt-In-Online
- Register online by visiting the website of your chosen RFID service provider.
- Remove The Extra Sticker
- After choosing your desired RFID provider, proceed to their service center to remove the unchosen RFID sticker and account.
- Load Up
- You can now load up your chosen RFID account, and use it in all Luzon tollways!
This unified system can be used in the following Luzon toll expressways: Skyway, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), STAR Tollway, Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX) Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIAx).
Along with Muntinlupa–Cavite Expressway (MCX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX), and C5 Southlink.
