OCD: 46 deaths, NDRRMC: 13 due to “Kristine”

THE Office of the Civil Defense reported 46 deaths due to the onslaught of Several Tropical Storm Kristine.

According to the report reaching OCD Executive Director Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, there were also 20 reported missing and 7 injured. The report said that the figures are still part of an ongoing validation.

Majority of the deaths were recorded in the Bicol Region with 28. This is followed by the Calabarzon region with 15.

Among the reasons being said in the report include deaths due to landslides and drowning.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on the other hand are verifying 13 reported deaths, 5 injured and 7 missing.

Meanwhile, the number of affected individuals rose to 2,656,446.

Some 1,214 houses were damaged – 188 totally and 1,402 partially.

The estimated damage to agriculture is at 9,745,938.84

Meanwhile, some P60,529,295.55 in assistance were provided for 27,125 families.
