NDRRMC: More than 800K affected by Nika, Ofel and Pepito

THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that a total of 238,982 families or 852,475 persons were affected by the combined storms of Nika, Ofel and Pepito.

According to their latest situation report. 24,421 families or 75,581 persons were served inside 566 evacuation centers  and 11,541 families or 36,077 persons served outside evacuation centers.

The number of injured remains at two as of this writing.

A total of 65 roads and bridges were still not passable and 21 cities and municipalities in Region 1; 20 in Region 2 and one in Region 3 remained without power.

While 11 communication lines are still being restored in Region 2.

Some 2,386 passengers from CALABARZON and the Bicol Region remain stranded.

A total of 7,401 houses were partially damaged and 437 totally damaged.

The damage to agriculture is at P855,326. The estimated cost of damage to infrastructure amounting to Php 469,847,274.36 was reported in Region 2, Region 3, CAR.

A total of 11 cities/municipalities were declared under the State of Calamity, and 150,821 families or 514,576 persons were pre-emptively evacuated.

The total assistance provided has so far reached P45,048,182.26.
