SEVERE Tropical Storm Kristine may have exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but has affected millions of Filipinos.
According to the latest situation report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, some 5,784,298 individuals of 1,415,438 families across 8,895 villages were affected by the storm.
Of the said number, 91,189 families or 382,154 persons were served inside 7,484 evacuation centers and 48,250 families or 178,742 persons were served outside evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC said that they received reports of 79 deaths, 33 injured and 26 missing.
Of the said number only 9 deaths and one missing have been validated.
A total of 520 road sections and 84 bridges were affected by the weather disturbance.
A total of 27,640 damaged houses are reported in Region 1, Region 2, Region 3, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, Region 12, CARAGA,
BARMM, CAR.
Of the said number 25,591 are partially damaged and 2,049 are totally damaged.
The damage to agriculture is pegged at P1,432,229,305.62.
The estimated cost of damage to infrastructure amounting to Php 825,130,698.3 was reported in Region 1, Region 2, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 10,
Region 12, CAR.
A total of 158 cities/municipalities were declared under the State of Calamity.
While P562,071,849.27 in assistance were provided to the families affected by the”Kristine.”
