THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that the number of those reported dead due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine breached the 100 mark as a million individuals were added to the list of the already millions of affected people.
According to the latest situation report of the NDRRMC, as of Monday morning, October 28, 2024, there are 116 reported deaths, 10 of which were already validated.
There are also 39 individuals reported missing, and 109 being injured.
On the other hand, Kristine had already 6.7 million people or 1.6 million families from 10,147 barangays nationwide.
Of the said number, 980,355 had been individuals and are currently 6,286 evacuation centers.
The report also said that there is an estimated P2.5 billion in agricultural damage and P1.5 billion worth of damage to infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a total of 3,004 houses across the country were damaged – 41,533 partially, the rest totally.
The NDRRMC also reported 676 roads and 96 bridges affected and are currently not passable for motorists.
Some 160 cities and municipalities have also been placed under a state of calamity.
On the other hand, P658.7 million worth of assistance has been provided to affected people.
