Malacanang: Up to LGUs if they will suspend class, work on Monday due to Pepito

by Kiko Cueto

MALACANANG is tossing the decision on whether or not to suspend classes and government work to the respective Local Government Units, saying they best know their areas of responsibility well.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, the decision to suspend classes and work in public offices is up to the heads of the local government of the affected areas.

“Upon consultation with the relevant government agencies and the NDRRMC, cancellation of classes and / or suspension of work in government offices is given to the respective local chief executives,” the PCO said in a statement released Sunday afternoon.

Likewise, the PCO said that the decision was made after they took“into consideration the situation in their respective localities.”
Several areas had declared a suspension of classes and you may view them here.
