In celebration of National Women’s Month this March 2025, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will offer a free theoretical driving course exclusively for female applicants.
The program, which LTO brands as ‘Serbisyo para kay Juana’, aims to promote gender inclusivity and empower women in the field of transportation.
“Bilang pagkilala sa lakas, tibay, at mga kontribusyon ng mga kababaihan sa lahat ng sektor, ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ay magsasagawa ng FREE Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) PARA SA MGA BABAE na aplikante ngayong pagdiriwang ng 2025 National Women’s Month,” announced LTO on their Facebook post.
The program will accommodate two batches, with 50 applicants each. The first batch will be held on March 11–12, followed by the second batch on March 13–14.
To register, people may scan the QR Code provided by LTO accompanying their Facebook page or go directly to the link of the google form.
Theoretical Driving Course is a mandatory classroom-based course designed to teach aspiring drivers the basic knowledge and skills they need before getting a student driver’s permit. It covers lessons on traffic rules and regulations, basic driving theories, road safety and defensive driving, duties and responsibilities of drivers, and many Servimore.
In 2020, the LTO made the TDC mandatory to help reduce accidents, ensure driver discipline, and ensure that drivers will have a foundational knowledge about road safety.
It’s usually a 15-hour course spread over 2 days, though the schedule may vary depending on the LTO branch or accredited driving school.
After completing the TDC, you will receive a certificate which you will present once you decide to apply for a student’s driving permit.
