ONE of the two low pressure areas (LPAs) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) now has a higher chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Based on the latest data from state weather bureau PAGASA, the first LPA spotted 370 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan now has a “HIGH” chance of developing into a tropical depression.
Meanwhile, the second LPA, located 1,140 kilometers east of Central Luzon, remains at a “MEDIUM” chance of forming into a tropical depression, both happening within the next 24 hours.
Despite the continued threat of developing into a tropical depression, neither of the LPAs is expected to make landfall. However, if one becomes a tropical cyclone, it will be given the local name “Dante.”
