AFTER back-and-forth argument, the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) said that starting next week, they would allow the livestream of their proceedings over the flood control investigation.
No less than ICI chairman Andres Reyes Jr. gave the nod during a Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights’ organizational meeting.
This is in relation to Senate Bill No. 1215, which seeks to create an Independent People’s Commission (IPC) to probe the anomalies with regards to the government infrastructure projects.
“We will try our best to be able to full blast investigation of all these fraud. We don’t have the facility, we don’t have the rules of procedure, but we will already shorten the procedure in spite of no rules allowing us, we will now go on livestream next week once we get to be able to have the technical capability with us already,” Reyes said.
It will be recalled that ICI executive director Brian Keith Hosaka said that they turned down requests for a live stream to avoid ‘trial by publicity’ and any political influence.
