GREENHILLS is a known area to shop for the holiday season for the various things they offer which can be given as gifts to loved ones.
But with many trooping to the said shopping area, comes major traffic snarl.
This is why the San Juan City LGU opted to open the Greenhills-West Crame Connector Road which is expected to ease travel to and from the City.
Heavier traffic is being felt across the country, particularly in Metro Manila as it trunks to the last weekend before the most festive season of the year.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed many of their enforcers in areas near malls and other markets.
The Greenhills – West Crame Connector Road is expected to serve an alternative route going to and from San Juan.
Likewise, an e-trike transport terminal was opened offering offers free rides until December 31.
“Napakalaking epekto po nito sa ikaluluwag sa traffic dahil instead na umiikot ang mga sasakyan, nag sasama-sama, madidecongest po lalong lalo na sa Greenhills area. Timely po ito dahil alam po natin tuwing kapaskuhan, napakaraming namimili sa Greenhills,” said MMDA chairperson Don Artes.
Metro Manila rails also adjusted their operating hours to accommodate more passengers this holiday season.
The EDSA carousel busway is expected to operate on a 24-hour basis.
