FORMER Vice President Leni Robredo has her X (formerly Twitter) account hacked on Monday morning, February 17, 2025.
On a Facebook post, Robredo confirmed the incident.
“My X (Twitter) account was hacked. Please ignore all posts while I am trying to gain control of the account again,” she said on her personal Facebook. This was also shared by her official Facebook page.
Aika Robredo, daughter of the former VP, also shared a post from Robredo’s account, warning the public that hackers were using her mother’s credentials as a lawyer and human rights advocate to promote cryptocurrency on behalf of a ‘Solana community.’
“The tweet is not hers,” said Aika.
“Her team is currently working on regaining access. Please be warned, and thank you,” she added.
This was not the first time that a high-profile account was hacked. In August 2024, the Department of Finance’s (DOF) X account was also hacked by someone promoting crypto schemes. It made at least 180 posts before DOF acknowledged that they have been compromised.
Currently, Robredo is running for mayor in Naga City for the 2025 midterm elections.
