Classes and government work suspended for July 23, 2025 — Malacañan

SUSPENSION of classes and government work for Wednesday, July 23, 2025 just came out Tuesday afternoon via Memorandum Circular 90. 

According to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, MC 90 is effective in the provinces of Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Negros Occidental, as well as the whole of Metro Manila. 

Essential government workers, particularly those working in agencies involved in providing emergency assistance and disaster response are still required to work. While operations of private companies and offices are left to the discretion of their management. 

MC 90 also stated that the suspension of classes and/or government work in regions or provinces not included in the earlier list may still be implemented by the local chief executive, as they deem needed. 

The suspension, upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), came following the incessant torrential downpour.

On Tuesday, 2PM, PAGASA confirmed that the low pressure area (LPA) bring monitored east of Aurora province has already developed into Tropical Depression Dante.
