THE Ayala-owned Bank of the Philippine Islands announced that they will cease the “Load E-Wallet” service for two e-wallet apps starting Feb. 13.
In a statement, BPI said that users of GCash and Maya may still load their e-wallets via Instapay, using the “Transfer to other banks” feature.
The BPI app users simply need to select G-Xchange/GCash or Maya Philippines Inc/Maya Wallet from the list of banks on the menu.
Users will be charged P25 for bank transfers.
Meanwhile, GCash users can still “Cash In” with BPI on the e-wallet app.
A “convenience fee” of P5 will be charged.
BPI and GCash are actually sister companies under the Ayala Group of companies.
But BPI now has their own e-wallet called Vybe.
BPI app users on the other hand can pay for purchases using the scan-to-pay feature which uses the QR Ph standard.
On the other hand, GCash announced that they will be undergoing system maintenance on Wednesday, Feb 12, from 12 a.m. to 1 a.m.
