QUEZON CITY 1ST district representative Arjo Atayde explained the circulating viral photo with Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and wife, Sarah Discaya, after being linked to the flood control probe scandal.
On the previous Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, contractor Curlee Discaya named Arjo Atayde as one of the lawmakers who allegedly extorted money from them.
Reading from their joint nine-page sworn affidavit, the Discaya couple detailed how some members of the House of Representatives and DPWH officials had demanded a cut from their contracts.
This cut ranges up to 25% percent of their flood control project contract, to which they later gave in against their will, as they were told that their project with the DPWH would face delays such as road right-of-way issues.
Arjo Atayde later denied his involvement after being linked by the Discaya, prompting him to release a statement on Instagram stating that he had never dealt with them.

Following the accusation made against Atayde, a picture of him with the Discaya couple resurfaced on the internet.
According to The Freeman, the photo of Atayde with the Discaya couple is nothing but a simple “hi-hello” picture.
He further explained that a meeting never took place, nor has he dealt with them.
