WITH the re-entry of Typhoon Bising in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), local government units in several areas of the Philippines have declared class suspension on Monday, July 7.
On Sunday at 11:00 pm, Typhoon Bising re-entered the PAR, causing wind signal no. 1 remains to take effect on Batanes.
Through Tuesday afternoon, areas of the Ilocos Region and Central Luzon may continue to experience moderate to heavy rainfall caused by the southwest monsoon.
The following LGU’s that cancel their classes are as follows:
- Ilocos Sur (All levels, public and private schools, and work in government offices)
- Ilocos Norte (kinder and elementary; private and public)
- Bauang, La Union (All levels, public and private)
- Aringay, La Union (All levels, public and private)
- Basista, Pangasinan (Elementary to High School, public and private)
- Lingayen, Pangasinan (All levels, public and private)
- Sta. Maria, Pangasinan (All levels, public and private)
- Masantol, Pampanga (All levels, public and private)
- Palauig, Zambales (All levels, public and private)
Further announcements may occur.
On Monday morning, Bising is expected to grow weaker as it’s expected to leave PAR.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will still bring strong winds over the Ilocos Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, and Romblon.
Occasional rains are expected over the Ilocos Region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies as well as rain showers and thunderstorms.
