MULTI-AWARDED and veteran actress Jaclyn Jose passed away on March 3, 2024. She was 59.
Jose, whose real name is Mary Jane Guck, was born in 1964. She is known for versatility as an actress, where she was loved by Filipino audiences.
She had top billed dramas, comedies, horror stories and romances in various soap operas and movies.
Jose had a breakout performance when she starred in the 1980s with films such as Lino Brocka’s “White Slavery” and Chito S. Roño’s “Private Show.”
Her other films include starring and supporting roles for the “The Flor Contemplacion Story” (1995) and “Patay Na Si Hesus” (2019).
She was also praised for her work in various TV shows including “Marimar,” “The Millionaire’s Wife,” and “D’Originals.”
As proof of her brilliance, Jose won the award in 2016, at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in Brillante Mendoza’s “Ma’Rosa.”
Her passing was confirmed by the talent management agency PPL Entertainment in a social media post.
The cause of her death is not revealed.
