Fabella Hospital welcomes 2024 with a New Year Baby

by Kiko Cueto

AS sure as Filipinos lit up the skies and ushered in the new year with a bang, a couple at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital welcomed their first child, which was born after three years of pregnancy attempts.

An emotional 23-year-old Ronalyn Concepcion gave birth to a healthy boy at exactly 12:00 midnight.

He was named Jhaiden Railey.

“Mahirap po ‘pag first baby pero okay naman po. Worth it po yung lumabas yung baby. Sana lumaki siya ng healthy,” Concepcion said.

John Michael Dizon, her husband, also became emotional after seeing his first child.

“Sobrang saya po kasi ngayon pa lang po ako nagkaganito e. Kasi po ang tagal po namin hinihintay po ‘to. ‘Yung future niya, gagawin ko ang lahat para sa kanya,” Dizon said.

For both John and Ronalyn, Jhaiden is their blessing for 2024.

Meanwhile, the hospital said that there is a decrease in the number of those who deliver babies on New Year’s day.

After the COVID-19 restrictions, the hospital said they no longer require mothers for COVID-19 testing.

The hospital provided gifts to the newborn baby such as clothing and other essentials.
