VICE President Sara Duterte has resigned from the cabinet as education secretary and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., has accepted it.
According to the Palace, Duterte “tendered her resignation as Member of the Cabinet, Secretary of the Department of Education and Vice Chairperson of the NTF Elcac, effective 19 July 2024,” Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said.
In a press conference, Duterte did not state as to why she decided to resign but thanked the Deped family.
Meanwhile, the Palace thanked the her for her service.
“She will continue to serve as as Vice President. We thank her for her service,” the Palace official added.
