SARANGANI was rocked by a massive 7.1 earthquake early Tuesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
It shook towns in the Sarangani Island in Davao Occidental.
According to state seismologists, the quake had a depth of 76 kilometers, was felt at Intensity IV in Malungon, Alabel, and Kiamba, Sarangani.
No tsunami alerts were raised.
It struck more than a month after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur.
