PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared April 10, Wednesday, a regular holiday across the country to mark Eid’l Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Marcos signed Proclamation 514, which aims to bring the religious and cultural significance of Eid’l Fitr ”to the fore of national consciousness,” on April 4.

The President said the proclamation would also allow Filipinos to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance of Eid’l Fitr.

Muslims began observing Ramadan, or the month of fasting, on March 12.
