WITH a few days before Christmas tragedy struck for an estimated 1,000 families after a fire broke out at a residential area on Capulong Street in Tondo, Manila late Tuesday evening.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, one officer sustained injuries.

The BFP-NCR reported that the blaze engulfed some200 houses that started past 9 p.m.

It reached a fifth alarm at 11:02 p.m.

This meant more firetrucks are needed to put out the fire.

It was declared fire out at 2:07 a.m.
