KPop artist Sulli, whose real name was Choi Jinri, would have been celebrating her 29th birthday on Wednesday but the hurricanes she had to endure in her short but meaningful life had her drowning in deep waters, forcing her to find solace in the arms of the creator.
Sulli was found dead in her home by his brother, who was also her manager, on October 14, 2019. Reports said the cause was most likely suicide and his brother noted the singer-actress was suffering from depression. She was just 25.
Her tragic death has brought heartache to many fans around the world and has put the South Korean society in a tight spot for allegedly pushing Sulli off the cliff for the bullying and criticisms she received for expressing herself.

While she faced several controversies, which includes not wearing bras, getting drunk on social media, referring to older male actors by their first names, and openly supporting her country’s abortion law, fans remembered her as someone kind, free-spirited, and a person who’s not afraid of showing the world who she really was.

Sulli kicked off her career in the entertainment industry as a child actress. She then went on to debut as a member of the all-female group f(x) under SM Entertainment in 2009.
