KPOP vocal powerhouse MAMAMOO’s main rapper MoonByul dropped multiple concept photos for her upcoming album for her birthday on December 22.

MAMAMOO is known for their hit songs Dingga (2020), Hip (2019), Décalcomanie (2016), and their most recent single ILLELLA (2022).

The group’s company, RBW Entertainment, announced MoonByul’s third comeback this year using the group’s fan cafe and social media pages.

The special single album is called Present and will be released three days before Christmas at 6 PM KST.

This festive EP is a fulfillment of the rapper and singer’s promise to her fans after winning the South Korean survival singing contest for rappers “The Second World.”

MoonByul had this tradition of “gifting” fans, called “MooMoos,” with special songs on her birthday to thank them for their relentless support.

Other birthday songs from MoonByul includes Chemistry (2021), A Miracle 3 Days Ago (2020), and Snow (2019).

MoonByul’s solo activities

MoonByul is the second oldest member of KPop girl group MAMAMOO, who debuted in June 2014.

In January, she released an album called 6equence, a short film-like EP that tells the stages of a relationship: from falling in love, to the climax, the breaking up, and the lingering feelings after the end of the withered connection.

Three months later, MoonByul returned with another single EP titled C.I.T.T. (Cheese in the Trap), a cheesy and fun pop music that showcases her powerful vocals and striking rapping skills.

The MAMAMOO member also held two solo concerts in South Korea in March and Japan in August.

In August, MoonByul joined JTBC’s The Second World, a survival singing show that exhibits girl group rappers’ vocal abilities.

MoonByul aced the competition with three perfect scores in three out four rounds. In November, she was hailed champion and was praised for her outstanding stage presence, spectacular performance, breathtaking visuals, and impeccable vocals.

She is set to perform in South Korea’s 36th Golden Disc Awards as a prize for her Second World victory. MoonByul will also record an original soundtrack for a JTBC drama next year.

MAMAMOO’s MYCON PH Concert

Aside from her solo activities, MoonByul recently did a group comeback with other MAMAMOO members Solar, WheeIn, and HwaSa.

They released an album called MIC ON in October and are currently holding their first world tour as a group.

RBW released the first leg of the tour, with Philippines concluding the Asian stop.

Tickets for MAMAMOO’s first Philippine concert had been sold out immediately and fans are asking the organizers to hold a two-day event to accommodate fans who weren’t able to secure their seats.

MAMAMOO’s MYCON concert will take place at the Araneta Coliseum on February 12, 2023.
