MARRIED women, here’s your chance to wear the Miss Universe Philippines crown! 

Miss Universe Philippines is now accepting applications for its 2023 pageant, and female candidates can join “regardless of civil status.”

Previously, the pageant was only limited to single women.

There is also no height requirement to join the contest, but applicants must be between 18 to 27 years old. 

Those who are interested to join should download and fill out the application form and send it to [email protected].

Deadline for application is on January 29, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. 

“The most prestigious crown in the country can be yours for the taking,” Miss Universe Philippines said. 

Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe organization, confirmed in September that it would allow mothers and married women to compete in the pageant for the first time. 

The organization describes itself as a “global, inclusive organization that celebrates all cultures, backgrounds and religion.” 

The decision of Miss Universe to accept married women drew praise from some netizens.

In previous years, Miss Universe also allowed transgender women to compete in the pageant.

Miss Spain 2018 Angela Ponce was the first transgender woman to join the international contest.
