by RepublicAsia

LAUFEY, an Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter, announced on social media that she is bringing her “Bewitched: The Goddess Tour” to Manila on September 2 as her first arena headline.

“MY FIRST ARENA HEADLINE IN MANILA. MAHAL KITA! (I’ll also be seeing u at the symphony in May)” said Laufey about the event, which will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

This would be her third time to perform in the Philippines. Laufey previously visited the country for her first-ever Asia tour at the Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City, while on May 28 and 29, she will also hold her concert titled “A night at the Symphony” at the PICC Plenary Hall, where she will perform with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.

Laufey will be making stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Taipei. She will also visit Singapore and have three more shows in Australia.

“I can’t wait for these shows,” she added in a post. She announced that pre-sale tickets for her Australia tour will start this Wednesday.

“Asia, stay tuned for more details very soon,” she added.

Laufey is known for her jazz pop songs like “From the start.” She started her career as a finalist in the 2014 season of “Iceland’s Got Talent.” She won her first Grammy in February for Best Traditional Pop Vocal for her album “Bewitched.”

Netizens jokingly said that Laufey should also perform in Mow’s, where Blaster Silonga made a cover of her song “From the start.”

The video reached Laufey and she commented: “AW I WANT TO BE THERE.” Since she has announced her upcoming events in Manila, fans have urged her by saying, “Mows ka muna lods.”

Another netizen said, “Please add another show at this place called Mows since you wanna be there!”

Mow’s is a bar in Quezon City that’s well-known for gig-goers and budding artists in the local scene.
