XG—composed of Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya, and Cocona—finally announced on Monday that it will be embarking on its first world tour called “The first HOWL.”

The Philippines is among the countries that are part of the world tour’s Asian leg, which will kick off on May 18 and 19 at Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka, Japan, followed by Yokohama on May 25 and 26 at K-Arena Yokohama.

The concert date and venue for the Manila leg of the tour have yet to be revealed.

The septet will also be performing in the cities of Bangkok, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Taipei, as well as in countries in North America and Europe.

The North America leg of “The first HOWL” is set for October, while the Europe leg will be in November. Other regions included in the world tour have also yet to be announced.

XG first broke the news about their first world tour in November 2023.

Meanwhile, their fans, collectively known as ALPHAZ, couldn’t wait to see them perform live for their first concert tour in Manila.

“Do you hear me [screaming] bro that’s XG in Manila,” a Pinoy fan said.

About XG

XG, a shortened name for “Xtraordinary Girls,” is a hip hop/R&B girl group that debuted under the South Korean label XGALX, with the release of their all-English language digital single “Tippy Toes” in March 2022.

The girl group entered the competitive music industry intending to empower young individuals from all over the world.

It didn’t take long for the septet to pick up steam in the music industry as their performance videos started circulating on social media, specifically the cypher performance video of Cocona, Maya, Harvey, and Jurin where they individually showcased their top-notch vocal and rap skills.

This wowed Jackson Wang of popular K-pop boy group GOT7 and 88rising artist, who was amused by the talents of these young artists as seen on a reaction video posted by 88rising in January 2023.

The rapper praised the group and even described them as “the future.”

XG continued to catch the attention of music lovers with their undeniably head-bobbing songs such as “Left Right,” “Shooting Star,” “GRL GVNG” and “New Dance.”

Wang collaborated with American singer Ciara for a remix version of XG’s “LEFT RIGHT,” which they performed live at Coachella’s main stage in 2023.

“GRL GVNG,” on the other hand, debuted atop Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart for July 8, 2023.

In the same year, the group made its debut on the U.S. stage through the first-ever Head in the Clouds festival in New York City.

XG celebrated its second year as a group on Monday, March 18.
