LOOKING for a “perfect match-a” to satisfy your matcha cravings?

Matcha has been a part of the food pyramid of most, if not all, Gen Zs years after it was a trending topic on social media.

Matcha is a type of powdered green tea and is traditionally consumed in Japanese communities.

Some matcha eaters want it hot, cold, and sweet. However, how this green tea is consumed has changed through the years as matcha meets modernity and creativity. Well, Filipinos are known for that trait.

But Pinoys won’t deny that Japanese matcha tastes better. So if you want to try a taste of Japan without buying a plane ticket, here are some matcha stores in Metro Manila where you can find OG (original)matcha treats.

Last but definitely not the least, tagged as the home to the classic mascarpone tiramisu, San Juan-based Megamax reinvented their bestseller Uji-matcha tiramisu. Its newly-launched tiramisu is loaded with an uji matcha latte, savoiardi, mascarpone cream, matcha chocolate, and uji matcha powder—a heaven-sent treat. “It’s not just a basic matcha tiramisu, we don’t simply just replace coffee with matcha. We consider texture, balance, and harmony. That is why each of the matcha components has its role – matcha chocolate for texture, Uji matcha latte for balance, and Uji matcha powder for harmony,” Megamax told republicasia.
