GOT7’s BamBam hints at possible collab with Lola Amour

by Joanna Deala

WILL there be a collaboration? Or will it be a song cover?

These are the questions that fans of K-pop group GOT7’s BamBam and Filipino indie band Lola Amour had in mind after he dropped a snippet of a project he was working on.

Fans went gaga on X as they reacted to the post of the 26-year-old K-pop idol, where he posted a photo of a music sequencer software. BamBam captioned his post, “Guess What?” with a Philippine flag emoji.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the file name of the project was “Raining in Manila,” the hit song by Lola Amour.

The Filipino band, meanwhile, reacted to the GOT7 rapper’s post with three shocked emojis.

Prior to this, Lola Amour posted a screenrecorded video of BamBam’s Instagram story, showing a black speaker that played “Raining in Manila.” The K-pop idol also captioned his post, “Next,” along with a location pin and Philippine flag emojis.

Reacting to his story, the band said on X, “Omg hello [BamBam]. Y’all should watch his show on Friday!!”

As of writing, there is no confirmation yet whether or not BamBam and Lola Amour will collaborate on the latter’s hit song.

Area 52 tour

BamBam is set to return to the country on September 22 for the Manila leg of his first world tour Area 52 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

On September 3, he asked his fans, collectively known as Ahgase, what Filipino song they would like to hear during his concert.

Some fans suggested the K-pop artist perform Raining in Manila at his Manila concert.

BamBam invited Filo Ahgases to his concert and said “I really don’t know what can I say more but if you don’t come I will make you regret it so bad.”

While fans await further updates about the “Raining in Manila” project, local concert organizer iME Philippines confirmed that BamBam’s labelmate and former member of K-pop girl group 2NE1 Sandara Park will join BamBam in his forthcoming concert as a guest artist.

Aside from the Philippines, BamBam will also perform in Vietnam, Macau, Thailand, and Japan.
