ACTRESS Yasmein Kurdi said that she will be meeting Department of Education chief Sonny Angara on Thursday following the alleged bullying of her daughter Ayesha.
According to her, the meeting with Angara is to discuss possible solutions and strategies for addressing and ending school bullying.
Earlier this December, Kurdi took out her frustration on Instagram regarding the alleged bullying of her daughter. The actress claimed that her daughter, Ayesha was targeted by her classmates due to her inability to keep up with group messages about their Christmas party.
The actress also said that Ayesha was surrounded by seven to nine kids from her class, blocked from leaving the classroom, and denied food and recess.
Aside from that, Yasmien also talked about Ayesha’s stress caused by harassment made by another student who took her video without her consent which later led to paranoia and anxiety.
“She has been enduring this type of bullying since Grade 2, alarmingly this has led to the creation of an online ‘Ayesha Hate Club’ targeting her,” she said.
With the bullying being carried on by her daughter, Kurdi called out to Ayesha’s school (without naming the institution) about whether or not they would do something about the incident.
“I know that bullies are everywhere. The question is, will the school do something about this?” she said.
On December 16, Kurdi made a post on her Instagram story to express her gratitude who have reached out and shared the stories about their children facing bullying.

“Your bravery in opening up means so much to me, and it’s a reminder of the challenges so many families are facing,” she wrote.
“I want you to know your voices are being heard,” she added. “It’s heartbreaking to think of our little ones struggling, and together, we can make a difference.”
Yasmien ended her story with promised to use her platforms “to advocate for meaningful change.”
