XIAN Lim expressed his wholehearted support on Instagram to his girlfriend and co-writer Iris Lee.
The couple was red carpet official on the “Kuman Thong” premiere night on July 2. The Kapuso actor then published a photo of him and Iris sitting on theater chairs. He described Iris as “talented” and “overly passionate.”
Lim said that hardworking is an understatement for Lee’s effort in her projects–whether with him or the great directors she has worked with.
“Our (movie) would not be the way it is now if it weren’t for you juggling the logistics in the (Philippines) and (Thailand) plus the creative side of Kuman Thong,” he included in the post. Lee stood as the creative consultant as well.
“To more films with you (Iris),” the actor added.
To date, comments on the Instagram post have garnered positive reactions, including Lee’s response.
Netizens, including Filipino socialite Josh Yugen, congratulated the couple.
The ‘Kuman Thong’ cast and plot
Joining the “Kuman Thong” blockbuster premiere were its cast: Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, Jariya Therakaosal, Max Nattapol, and Emman Esquivel.
The movie’s trailer was released last June and delves into the story of a mother who tragically lost her son. To bring him back, she sought help from a Kuman Thong statue. But instead of retrieving her son, it took a horrific turn.
Directed by Lim, “Kuman Thong” hit Philippine cinemas on July 3. This is the third film he directed after “Tabon” and “Hello Universe.”
The Kuman Thong or Black Magic Baby is a religious belief in Thai culture which is supposed to bring luck to its owner. “Kuman Thong” was purely shot in Thailand.
