What’s coming on screen: List of TV Series and Movies coming this 2025

AS we step into the year 2025, new seasons of TV series and movies are on a line-up and are heading our way to bring fun and excitement onto our screens. 

From highly anticipated sequels to brand-new originals, these upcoming TV series and movies promise something for every type of movie-goer. 

Mark your calendars and get ready cinephiles! Here are the lists of TV series and movies that will make your year unforgettable. 

Wednesday Season 2

Continuing the adventures of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), a new season of Wednesday will be screening this year on Netflix. 

According to Jenna Ortega, the new season is said to be bigger and will be packed with more action. Ortega also expressed how she wanted the series to focus more on horror than romance—following the storyline of Wednesday as she further unveils the secrets surrounding her. 

Wicked: For Good 

Following the hit film Wicked, the movie will continue the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) after they figure out that the Wizard doesn’t really have any powers. 

The second will also reveal how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West as Glida transforms into the Good Witch. 

Wicked: For Good is set to screen in cinemas on November 21, 2025. 

Squid Game Season 3 

Squid Game season 2 has left most of us on a cliffhanger but unlike the release of the second season, we don’t have to wait for long as the third season of the thriller series will be out in 2025. 

According to Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, it could be out by summer or fall of the year. 

How To Train Your Dragon 

We all miss our favorite dragon Toothless but this year, we will once again re-meet Hiccup and Toothless for the live-action version of “How To Train Your Dragon.” 

How To Train Your Dragon is set to screen at the cinema on June 13, 2025. 

The Last of Us Season 2

Continuing the story of Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) comes in the second season of The Last of Us. 

After saving Ellie from being killed by the Fireflies to the cure, Joel’s relationship with Ellie became strained as Ellie wasn’t able to help the doctors find the cure. The second season will feature a new timeline, depicting Ellie in her early adulthood as she avenges Joel’s death. 

Snow White

A live adaptation of our favorite Disney princess is set to screen in the cinema, starring Rachel Ziegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the evil queen. 

Stranger Things Season 5 

The wait is finally over as Stranger Things will be returning to our screens for their fifth and final season. 

The eight-episode season will be having a time jump, taking place over a year after Vecna created a gate to the Upside Down in the previous season. 

Superman

A new Superman movie is set to screen in our cinemas this coming July 11. Starred by David Corenswet, the new Superman film will follow the life of Clark Kent reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his life in Smallville, Kansas.
