DRAG addicts–prepare to take your seats as we’re now less than a month before a new set of “queens” arrives for the second season of the reality series “Drag Den Philippines.”
Early this month, it was announced that the show has been renewed for another season, and will be called “Drag Den Season 2: Retribution.”
Filipino-American drag queen Manila Luzon, who was recently named Best Entertainment Host at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore, will reprise her role as the series’ host, known as the Drag Lord.
Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves and content creator Sassa Gurl will also return as the Drag Dealer and Drag Runner, respectively.
The second season promises a new bunch of things for drag addicts, including the new den where the cast and the drag queens will be moving to.
So while we await for the premiere, here’s what to expect from “Drag Den Season 2: Retribution”:
New queens
The first season of “Drag Den Philippines” saw eight drag queens competing for the title of the first-ever Filipino Drag Supreme, won by NAIA.
In the forthcoming season, 10 drag queens will vie for the next Drag Supreme crown.
“Drag Den Philippines” gave a sneak peek of the new contestants through posters and video teasers.
The first four teasers featured Deja, who represents Baguio City, Elvira of Quezon City, Feyvah Fatale of Bulacan and Margaux of Tondo.
In her intro video, Deja wore a white Filipiniana-inspired gown with “Baguio City” all over. She held a basket of strawberries, which the “summer capital of the Philippines” is known for.

Meanwhile, Fevyah showcased Bulacan in her attire that has the design of the historical Barasoain Church on her left shoulder. Her crown has two horns similar to carabao horns. Bulacan is known for its Kneeling Carabao Festival, which is celebrated in Pulilan every May.

Drag addicts have yet to see the intro videos of Jean Vilogue, Maria Lava, Marlyn, Moi, Mrs. Tan and Russia Fox.
Star-studded guest judges
True to its promise to offer a “mas pakak, mas chugug, and mas palavarn” season, “Drag Den Season 2: Retribution” will feature a stellar roster of guest judges a.k.a. Drag Enforcers.
In its December 14 teaser, the show revealed that they include award-winning actress Dolly de Leon, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto, OPM singer Yeng Constantino, Aiah, Maloi, and Mikha of P-pop girl group BINI, cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, actress Andrea Brillantes and “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season 2 winner Alaska.
They will be joined by NAIA, who will return to the show as Drag Agent.
New format, new den
According to the teaser, “Drag Den Season 2: Retribution” will also have a new set of rules.
This includes the elimination segment where one queen will have to bid farewell at the end of each episode. Manila Luzon will send off the eliminated contestant with a supportive message.
The cast and queens will also transfer to a new den, which will apparently be divided into three parts: the alley, the arcade and the main stage.
Reports said that the “Main Drag Showdown” will be held on any stage.
The teaser also gave a glimpse into the show’s “Barangayan Showdown,” where contestants would have to lipsync to a song by rapper Gloc 9 and to “Rampa” by Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda.
Drag addicts will witness more of these once “Drag Den Season 2: Retribution” premieres on January 18, 2024 on Prime Video.
