GEAR yourselves up, Magiliws! We’re now only counting hours before the much-awaited first fanzone event organized by fans of multiethnic Filipino boy group ALAMAT for their fellow Magiliws.
This, as they celebrate another milestone for the six-piece group, which will hold its first solo concert “Dagundong” tomorrow, December 1.
With this musical event, members Tomas, Taneo, Mo, Jao, R-Ji, and Alas aim to introduce themselves more in the Philippine music scene with their multilingual and award-winning songs.
In a bid to amplify their “lakans” voices, Magiliws will hold the fan zone event called “UGONG: Pagdating ng Dagundong” on Friday at the Gateway Mall Activity Area in Quezon City, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
So, what is this fan zone event all about and why are fans holding it? Here’s a clearer picture of what will happen in the event, according to Ysabelle Herrera of Magiliw Fandom:
Magiliw fanbases collaboration
Organized by Magiliw Fandom, the “UGONG: Pagdating ng Dagundong” fan zone event is described as the “biggest Magiliw fanbases collaboration,” where ALAMAT fans from across the country will gather together.
Herrera told republicasia that the reason why they named the event “UGONG” is simply because they want to “start the waves” for the P-pop group.
“Bago magpadagundong ang ALAMAT sa New Frontier Theatre, kaming mga Magiliw muna ang uugong sa Gateway,” she said.
Herrera shared that they came up with the event’s title prior to the release of “Dagundong” this month. The song is the title track of ALAMAT’s latest eight-track album titled “IsaPuso.”
The 28-year-old fan shared that they only knew about the album’s title track when they brainstormed for the event’s title. Interestingly, they found out that the word “ugong” is part of the song’s lyrics when the album was released.
“We got giddy when we found out that the word UGONG is part of the lyrics,” she said. “Also, UGONG rhymes with DAGUNDONG. What a happy coincidence.”
What’s in the event
Over 140 fans from different parts of the country will join the fan zone event, but Herrera said they are still looking forward to seeing more individuals, even non-fans, to join the event.
There are a lot of activities and surprises that await Magiliws, said the Magiliw Fandom admin.

These include various games where fans can join and win exciting prizes. There will also be photo booths in the area where fans can capture such a momentous event as part of ALAMAT’s fandom.
Another thing that fans will definitely look forward to in the event are ALAMAT’s merchandise that “mostly are free” from the United Magiliw booth, said Herrera.
“[There are] other fun activities for Magiliws to enjoy. They must check out the booths and participate in our prepared games,” she added.
The fan zone event will also feature performances from guests artists and from the fans as well.
Organizing such a big event for Magiliws may not be easy for Magiliw Fandom, but this will surely be meaningful for both ALAMAT and its fans.
“It is a roller coaster of emotions while preparing for this event, but everything is worth it as we keep in mind that we do this for our Lakans,” Herrera said.
She hopes that this will only be the beginning of more events they will hold for ALAMAT.
“We are looking forward to this coming year that ALAMAT will join their Cupsleeve events held by fans for fans. For we know that it can help build the relationship of artist-fans,” she said.
Proud Magiliws
ALAMAT has indeed come a long way as a group–from their pre-debut days, creating a buzz when it entered the P-pop arena in 2021, receiving awards for their songs that are odes to Philippine culture, to holding their first major concert.
Looking back on the group’s journey, Magiliws are more than proud of what their idols have accomplished together through the years since they were formed in 2020.
“Three years in the industry is no joke. We admire their dedication and passion in showcasing their crafts while incorporating our culture,” Herrera said.
She assured that Magiliws will continue walking along their “Lakans” as they reach greater lengths in the P-pop scene.
“Whatever milestone they will reach in the future, iisa ang aming puso sa kanilang adhikain at sasamahan sila sa kanilang pagsulong,” the fan said.
