TWICE, Megan Thee Stallion collab for ‘Mamushi’ remix

by Joanna Deala

AMERICAN rapper Megan Thee Stallion will release a new album, which will include her collaboration song with K-pop girl group TWICE.

On X (formerly Twitter), Megan unveiled the tracklist of her new album titled “Megan: Act II,” which consists of 13 tracks including “Mamushi Remix” featuring the nine-piece Korean act.

First released in June, the original version of the song featured Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba. “Mamushi” is the song behind the viral “Watashi Wa Star” dance trend on TikTok, which many young individuals—including TWICE’s Jihyo and Mina—joined

“TWICE IS TALKING THEIR SH*TTTT !!! It’s so good #mamushiremix,” posted Megan.

TWICE replied to this and said, “Can’t wait. Real hot girls.”

The girl group also shared the news about their collaboration with Megan on X, reposting Jihyo and Mina’s “Watashi Wa Star” dance challenge.

The album also contains “Neva Play,” Megan’s collaboration song with RM of K-pop sensation BTS, as a bonus track. The song was first released in September.

“Megan: Act II” is scheduled to drop on October 25, Friday.

Megan first garnered traction through her videos of freestyling on social media.

She later released hit songs “Hot Girl Summer (featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign)” and “Cash Shit (featuring DaBaby),” with the former debuting at number 11 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart while the latter earned quadruple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

She collaborated with Beyoncé for “Savage Remix,” which won two GRAMMY awards—Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance—in 2021.

In February, Megan inked a distribution deal with Warner Music Group, maintaining her independence as an artist while utilizing the company’s global services.
