PLAYERS for the second season of the popular South Korean series “Squid Game” are ready to send goosebumps down the audience’s spine, as they risk their lives in hopes of taking home a massive cash prize.
Streaming platform Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the forthcoming season of “Squid Game,” featuring old and new faces participating in the widely popular but deadly Red Light, Green Light game.
The one-minute and 46-second clip opened with Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), also known as Player 456 in the first season, entering the Squid Game anew three years after he won it. This time, however, Gi-hun has another purpose of returning to the Squid Game: to find the people who created it and end the lethal game.
Let the new games begin.

Returning as a determined contestant, Gi-hun appears to guide other players during the Red Light, Green Light game by telling them to “freeze,” because if not, the giant robotic doll in front of them will shoot them to death.
Of course, some players could not care less about others. One example is the character played by former BIGBANG member T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun.
In the trailer, T.O.P, who dons purple hair, pushes individuals in front of him, causing them to fall and get shot.
“Bye,” he said, as their blood splattered on his face.
Aside from T.OP, other new players are those portrayed by South Korean actors Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.
These players are seen participating in a new set of games, including hopping on a moving carousel.
The trailer also featured actors Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, reprising their roles as the Front Man, a detective, and the Recruiter, respectively.
Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the second season of “Squid Game” will be available on Netflix on December 26.
