In an article by Disney, singer-songwriter Demi Lovato, who played the protagonist Mitchie Torres in the first two installments, will join “Camp Rock 3” as one of its executive producers. Disney did not give details on whether Lovato would reprise her role in the forthcoming film.
The singer-actress shared the “Camp Rock 3” announcement on her Instagram story and said, “Another one but make it camp!! Good luck to this next class of campers.”
About ‘Camp Rock 3’
According to Disney, “Camp Rock 3” follows the popular music trio Connect 3, who lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, prompting them to return to Camp Rock, a summer music camp, to discover “the next big thing.”
“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances,” the platform said.
“Camp Rock 3” is directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye. Aside from Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, and Gary Marsh will serve as its executive producers.
Further details about the third installment, including its premiere date, have yet to be revealed.
Joe initially dropped a clue that “Camp Rock 3” might actually be in the works during his appearance on “Hot Ones Versus,” alongside Nick and Kevin. The singer-songwriter was asked to read the last entry in his Notes app out loud, to which Joe complied and said, “‘Read Camp Rock 3.'”
Disney’s confirmation of “Camp Rock 3” comes more than a decade after “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and “Camp Rock” were released in 2010 and 2008, respectively.
