TBA Studios announced that its much-anticipated historical film about former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon will premiere in Philippine cinemas on October 15.
The Philippine production company announced this on Friday, July 4, sharing the official poster of the biopic topbilled by acclaimed actor Jericho Rosales.
“Don’t miss the epic conclusion to the trilogy that captured the nation,” it said.
Rosales reacted to TBA Studios’ post on Instagram and said, “We love you guys! Thanks for the support and enthusiasm!”
He also shared the news on his Instagram story and thanked TBA Studios, filmmaker Jerrold Tarog, and producer Daphne Chiu-Soon.
“So it’s real,” Rosales wrote.
Directed by Tarog, “Quezon” will feature Rosales as Quezon, a lawyer who became the first President of the Philippine Commonwealth, from 1935 to 1944. Quezon also served as the country’s first Senate President, from 1916 to 1935.
The forthcoming movie marks Rosales’s return to the big screen after his romantic comedy film “The Girl in the Orange Dress” in 2018.
Rosales was announced to portray the titular role in February. The actor said viewers will see Quezon “as a person” and not a hero in the movie.
“He is cunning, he is charming, he is intelligent,” he said.

Rosales will be joined by Benjamin Alves as the young Quezon, Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Arron Villaflor as Joven Hernando, Cris Villanueva as older Joven Hernando, Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña Sr., Karylle as Aurora Quezon, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, Jake Macapagal as Manuel Nieto, Bodjie Pascua as Raymundo Melliza, Angeli Bayani as Maria Agoncillo-Aguinaldo, Jojit Lorenzo as Miguel Laureano, Joross Gamboa as Eduardo Rusca, Therese Malvar as Nadia Hernando, Ana Abad Santos as Carmen Hernando, Ketchup Eusebio as Pedro Janolino, and Nico Locco as Sargeant Johnston.
