IT IS time to revisit the heartwarming and spine-tingling moments from our favorite anime series with Spotify’s new playlists featuring soundtracks from various anime shows and films.
The music streaming platform has collaborated with anime brand Crunchyroll to launch the “Global Anime Hub,” which showcases dozens of specially curated playlists and a dedicated shelf for anime enthusiasts.
The “Global Anime Hub” divided the playlists into different categories such as “Popular Anime Playlists,” “New Anime Playlists,” “Editor’s pick: Anime,” “Rom-com Anime,” “Sports Anime,” “Fantasy Anime,” “Sci-fi Anime,” and more.
Among the playlists are “Anime Now,” “Anime On Replay,” and “Women of Anime,” which exude different emotions and vibes.
There are also separate playlists dedicated to several beloved anime series like “My Hero Academia,” “Haikyuu,” “Naruto,” “One Piece,” “Bleach,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Attack on Titan,” “Black Clover,” “Fruits Basket,” and more.
Of course, Crunchyroll has its own shelf for listeners which includes the “Crunchyroll Anime Essentials,” “The Broody Black-Haired MC,” “The Journey Begins,” “The Bubbly Pink-Haired BFF” and “The OP White-Haired Sensei” playlists, and the “Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect” podcast.
The “Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect” podcast highlights the latest anime headlines, examines anime shows, chats with guest stars, and explores the impact of anime. The first episode was released on February 16, centering on the anime origin stories.
To access the playlists, a user will only have to search “Anime” on Spotify.
Through the “Global Anime Hub,” Spotify hopes to give listeners “the experience to discover, explore, and celebrate the best of anime culture.”
Rising anime music streams
The “Global Anime Hub” was launched as the number of global streams of anime music on Spotify increased.
According to the music platform, the global anime music streams have grown by 395 percent since 2021.
It also noted an increase in streams of anime tracks in the Philippines, with more than 339,838 anime music playlists created on the music streaming platform.
“Fans have also long embraced anime culture, from packed conventions to passionate online communities, contributing to the vibrant global anime community,” said Spotify.
