FOLLOWING his inaugural visit to the Philippine Embassy in Thailand, RepublicAsia’s founder and chief executive officer Bran Reluao explored the Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC) to foster collaborations between the Philippines and Thailand’s creative sectors.
Reluao’s visit was part of his official engagement as the youngest special envoy of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to Thailand for Digital Communications and Innovation.
Reluao and the Philippine delegation were welcomed by the administration of the TCDC, a premier institution operating under the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) that aims to promote and advance Thailand’s creative economy agenda.
On Instagram, the Gen Z special envoy shared a carousel of photos of his visit to TCDC, which he described as a “meaningful” one.
“From innovation to design-led development, this visit marks a vital step in fostering [the Philippines and Thailand’s] collaboration in the creative industries,” Reluao said.
“Grateful for the insights and inspired by Thailand’s commitment to creativity as a driver for progress,” he continued.
Reluao also looked forward to building bridges between the two Southeast Asian countries “through design, culture, and innovation.”
Reluao previously met with Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Millicent Cruz Paredes to discuss the Philippines’s efforts in advancing its digital transformation agenda and potential collaborations in the digital economy and innovation sectors of the Philippines and Thailand.
Meeting with DEPA
Reluao also attended a meeting with senior officials of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) of Thailand, where they talked over ongoing policies, programs, and potential areas of cooperation in advancing the digital economy, innovation ecosystems, and digital transformation of the two countries.
“We learned so much from DEPA’s digital policies, innovation programs, and national transformation roadmap,” Reluao wrote in an Instagram post.
“It was truly inspiring to see how Thailand is shaping its digital future,” he added.
Reluao also thanked Kasama Kongsmak, Executive Vice President for Strategy and Security Promotion Unit, and Kingkade Niyomsen, Team Leader of the Digital Intelligence Strategy and Policy Department, who warmly received him and the Philippine delegation at the DEPA’s headquarters.
